Tiddly Inks Blog Hop!!

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today begins Tiddly Inks first ever BLOG HOP!!  Christy over at Tiddly Inks has some really cute digi stamps in her online shop.  You have to go check them out!  If you are arriving here as part of the Blog Hop, you should have just visited Jodi's fabulous site!  If not, go to the Tiddly Inks link above and start from the beginning so you don't miss any of the fun, fantastic creations that the Blog Hop participants have to share with you!

My card is for my mom for her birthday tomorrow.  Yep, her birthday is the same day as Mother's Day this year.  It happens quite often, actually!  Don't worry, I made her two cards!  LOL!  This card was made using Christy's "Cherry Bugg" digi image.  Too Cute!!

The card base is a piece of Bazzill cardstock.  The card itself is a 5 1/2" square easel card.  The yellow cardstock is 5" square and has been punched around the edge and corners using the MS Double Loop Corner and Border Punch Combo.  The turquoise paper is by The Paper Company and is a double-sided Mulberry paper.  The DP is by Fancy Pants Designs.  The collection is called "About A Girl" and this particular design is called "Mia".  It is two-sided with the reverse side being a denim blue background with light blue small polka dots.  The half circles of the Mulberry paper and the DP were cut using my Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Circles Large.  Same for the digi image.  I colored the image using Copics which I will list below.  The three large cupcakes and the little cupcake on the inside all have Stampendous Pearl Glitter in various colors for their "frosting".  Cherry Bugg's wings have been painted with Shimmerz Blingz in Pixie Dust.  I love this stuff!  You can find it at Susana's store here.  I have used pop dots to give dimension to Cherry Bugg, the sentiment, and the little cupcake.  The sentiment and little cupcake were a stamp set that I had on hand.

Copics used:
Cupcake #1-YG05/YG17 Cherry on top-R24/R29
Cupcake #2-Y21/R08
Cupcake #3-B21/B24
Cupcake #4 (little cupcake)-Y21/YR12 Cherry on top-R24/R29
Dress and hat-B00/B02/B05  RV14/RV23
Tights and Hairbow-Y21/RV23
Shoes-Y21
Hair-E25/E47/E53
Skin-E000/E00

Hope you like my mom's birthday card!  I know she'll like it, she's my mom!  Awe!  Now, your next stop on the hop is Jess's blog so go ahead and hop on over to her super cool blog and enjoy some more fun stuff!  I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and for all of you mothers out there...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle Perkett Earth Day Blog Hop!!

Good morning everyone!  I'm actually posting this Saturday night so that my friends from the other side of the world that are participating in Michelle Perkett's Earth Day Blog Hop can wake up on Sunday morning and start "hopping"!

Michelle is a wonderful artist who creates absolutely gorgeous digi stamps!  You can find her works of art here.  You can also visit her blog here and her "challenge and inspiration" blog here.  The "challenge and inspiration" blog is where she lists her weekly challenges.  Make sure you check that one out and play along!  She has some really fun challenges!

Ok, the Earth Day Blog Hop Challenge was to create something using only recycled material (other than ink and markers/paint).  She wanted us to get creative with our recycled plastic, paper, cardboard and whatever else we liked, as long as it was recycled!!  And, it had to have the color green in it too!  So, without further ado, here is what I came up with...

All of the papers I used came out of my "scrap" folder, every single one of them!  I cut everything out using my Cricut machine.  All of the flowers/plants were cut using the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.  The word "besties" (as in best friends) was cut using the Songbird cartridge.  The butterflies are my favorite part!  They are cut from the plastic clamshell packages that my Fiskars squeeze punches came in.  How's that for recycling?!  I used the deep cut blade in my Cricut and the Tear Drop cartridge.  I used Tim Holtz Adirondack alcohol inks to "color" them.  I added some Stickles on the purple flowers, the multi-colored flower in the lower right corner, the seeds in the sunflower, the grasshopper's antennas, and on the word "besties".  The grasshopper also has little green jewels for eyes.  The 12 x 12 background paper was just an off-white color so I sprayed it LIGHTLY with my Glimmer Mist.  I used three colors; Caribbean Blue on the top 1/3, Cranberry Zing on the middle 1/3, and Lucky on the bottom 1/3.  I then laid a papertowel over the paper and used a brayer to smooth it out and pick up any extra color.  I just wanted a hint of color, anything darker and the butterflies wouldn't have shown up very well.

It was a fun change from my Copics but I'm ready to go color something now!  LOL!  Here is the list of the other participants in the blog hop.  Please continue "hopping" and leave them some love along the way!

Too Cute!

Good morning everyone and Happy Hump Day!  I'm getting ready to go take a walk with my neighbor so this is going to be a quick post, hopefully!  I tend to start rambling so we'll see how that goes!  haha!

Today's card was made for my second cousin's 3rd birthday.  I used an image from The Greeting Farm.  This is actually one of their rubber stamps called Dahlia and you can find her in the Wild Sprouts Collection.  They also carry digital stamps.

I used hot pink and purple cardstocks and the DP's are from a little 12 x 12 paper pack from the $1 bins at Target!  If you guys haven't checked these out, you should.  Sometimes you can find some really cute papers in these and the packs even have embossed papers and glitter papers in them!  They are really cute!  I just bought this one and two or three others.  The little flowers that are around her dress have a dot of Stickles in the middle of them and I put a flower-shaped brad in the middle of the flower in her hair.  I used an EK Success border punch to punch the scalloped bubbles border on both sides of the vertically striped DP and the "Too Cute" sentiment is a stamp.  The scalloped circle mats are cut using my Nestabilities Classic Large Scalloped Circles.  I colored Little Miss Dahlia with Copics and the bow is made with my Bow Easy.

Copics used:
Hair-Y11/Y21/E97
Flower-R20/R22/R29
Skin-E000/E00/E21
Dress-(greens)YG01/YG05/YG07 and YG0000 to blend (purples)V12/V15/V17 (yellows)Y15/Y04
Bloomers-YG05
Socks-B00/B02/B05  RV02/RV06

See you back here very soon!  Enjoy your day!

Lily Ladybug!

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday!  I hope everybody is having a super fabulous week!  We have had quite the mix of weather here in Liberty, MO.  It was warm and very windy on Sunday and Monday and then storms moved in late yesterday and we had lots of rain and hail and the temperatures dropped back into the upper 50's!  It's sunny and 55 degrees F right now so I'll take that over snow any day!

Today's card is a made with a super cute digi stamp from Pink Cat Studios called Lily Ladybug.  I just love Melissa's images, they are so adorable and fun to color!  The DP is from a Premium Paper Stack by DCWV called All Dressed Up.  I used two different DP's from this stack; one that had some glitter on it and one that was plain.  I also used black and red cardstock.

I used Copics to color her.  I will list colors below.  I added a bit of shimmer to her bottom wings with Shimmerz in Pixie Dust and I used Glitter Dots by Dress it Up in Ruby Slipper for her antennas.  You can get both of these products on SCACD.  The "Hello Friend" sentiment is off of the Pink Cat Studio website.  I printed it and then used my Nestibilities Classic Scalloped Circles Large in the smallest and next to smallest to cut it and the red mat out.  For the DP mat in the middle of those two, I used my Fiskars Seal of Approval squeeze punch.  All three sizes fit nicely together.  The little red ladybug at the top is punched using a MS border punch. I just cut him off of the border.  I then embellished both little ladybugs with black rhinestones.
Copic colors:
Hair-Y11/Y21/E97/E99
Skin-E000/E00/E21
Dress, Shoes, Headband-R24/R27/R29 and C1/C3/C5
Top Wings-R20/R22
Bottom Wings-R00/R20
Flower-R20/R22/R24 and Y11/Y15
Little Ladybug-R20/R22/R24

Thanks for visiting!  Have a wonderful day!

Don't Be Fooled!

Hello everyone!  It is an absolutely beautiful day in Liberty, MO!  76 degrees and breezy!!  Dare I say spring is here????  I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is.  No more snow!

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  I sure did!  Three of my scrappy friends and I went to Rogers, AR to a scrapbook retreat at the Embassy Suites.  This was our third trip to this specific retreat.  We love the ladies that put this wonderful weekend together!  You can find information about the retreat here.

Here's one of the cards that I made while I was there.  It is a digi image from Sassy Cheryl's.  You can visit her site here.  This image is called April's Fool.

I just had to color this funny little fellow!  He is too darn cute!  And the concensus among me and my friends was that he was just begging for that gold tooth!  heehee!  Here are the Copics I used:
Hat and Boots-RV02 and RV06  BG10, BG13, and BG15
Jacket-B24, B26, B28, V15, and V17

Top 'o the Mornin' To Ya!

Hello everyone, hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!  Winter is not going out graciously here in the Midwest...it's snowing!  Ugh!  It was almost 70 degrees yesterday and today there are 3 inches of snow on the ground and it's still falling!  Why is Mother Nature so angry???  Oh well, good reason to stay inside and scrap!

Ok, I'm a little behind the 8 ball with today's post but I wanted to put it on here anyway because I really liked how it turned out.  It is a St. Patrick's Day card I made for my sister and her family.  I just love this digi image from Sassy Cheryl's.  You can access her site here.  This little guy's name is Bagpipe Patrick.

This is an easel card.  For instructions on how to make these fun little cards, go here.  I made this one a bit larger than Beate does in her video, I made it a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.  When I was out on Splitcoast Stampers website looking for this tutorial link, I noticed that some people were chatting about whether they thought that the recipients of their easel cards would know that they were easel cards and how to display them.  This link http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c191/d0npen/Card%20Templates/?action=view&current=EaselCardsticker.jpg was supplied by someone.  It is a sticker template that was made for you to put on the back of your card so that your recipient knows how to display it.

For Patrick, I used the following Copic colors:  skin E000 and E00.  I wanted him to be fair complected.  hair E13, E17, E18, and E19.  shirt E31 and E33.  kilt, socks, clovers, and hat G82, G94, G99, and G0000 to blend.  boots and pipes E25 and E47.  bagpipe C1, C3, and C5.  After coloring the image, I went over the whole thing EXCEPT HIS SKIN with W2 to give it a vintage look.

The DP is by My Mind's Eye.  It is from a 54 Sheet Glitter Stack called "Home".  All of the papers in it are greens/golds/browns and are all glittery!  How can you go wrong with that?!  I'm pretty sure I bought it at Michael's.  As for the plain CS, I used a dark green and a gold.  The gold is out of a mat stack from Hobby Lobby by The Paper Studio.  The green is by The Paper Company and is called Olive.

The ribbon is just some I had on hand.  I made the bow with my Bow Easy.  Love that thing!  You can get one here.  The little tag on the front was cut with my Nestabilities Labels 1.  I stamped it with a little Happy St. Patrick's Day stamp and used a stamp pad by Color Box in Moss Green.  The little "clover" on the tag is actually a paper flower and I cut one of the petals off to make a four-leaf clover.  I then colored it with my Copics.  I used the same greens as I used on Patrick.  I chalked the edges of the tag and I also lightly shaded around Patrick with my brown ink, again giving it a vintage look.  The inside sentiment is a wooden stamp I bought at a local store called Stamper's Ink.  You can visit their website here.  I stamped it with Momento ink in Rich Cocoa.  Oh, just about forgot!  The gold piece of cardstock towards the bottom of the card on the front was punched with an MS Crown border punch.  I finished the card off with a few miscellaneous buttons.

Ok, got some work to do for the Scrapbook Page so I've got to say goodbye for now!  I'll be back soon with pics of what I created for them along with some more cards!

Slam Dunk Birthday!

Hello again everyone and Happy Hump Day!  I haven't posted in a week and a half, oops!  It's been a slight bit busy in my world as I'm sure it has in yours as well.  My daughter's softball season is getting into full swing (pathetic pun intended, hehe!) as is my son's soccer season so it will be getting even busier!  But, I love it!  Love being at the ballpark and soccer fields watching my kiddos play!

Ok, today's card is a card I made for my friend Micaela's son for his birthday.  He just turned 12.  I thought the card turned out pretty good!  I had several ideas in my head for different color schemes but I like the bright colors that I ended up using.  Hope you do too!

This one's a little blurry, sorry!

The inside of the card.

I printed my sentiments on the computer, super easy cheesy!  The image is a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.  You can visit her site here http://digitalpenciltoo.com/

Okie dokie!  That's it for today.  I'll be back tomorrow, promise!  I have another card done and ready to post but it's for someone special and I don't want them to see it on here before I give it to them!  That would kind of ruin it, now wouldn't it?!  Have a wonderful evening!

Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to my new blog!  Please bear with me while I figure out what the heck I'm doing.  Hopefully I'll get the hang of this pretty quickly!

My greatest passion right now are the Copic Markers.  They are totally addicting and so much fun to color with!  My friend Jerri (check out her blog here http://jerriscraftroom.blogspot.com/) and I just completed the Copic Certification class and are so excited about the opportunity to teach others how much fun can be had with these markers!  Here are some cards from the past few months that I've done with my Copics.  One thing I definitely need to improve on is my picture taking abilities!

This is a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.  You can access her site here http://digitalpenciltoo.com/

This is another digital stamp from Mo's.  Aren't her images adorable?!  I love them!
This is a House Mouse rubber stamp. They are soooo cute!  You can buy them online here http://www.house-mouse.com/
